I am afraid that Hogwarts won't have this kind of freedom. It's just an action open world with a set story. Sure, you play as someone in 1st person but you have absolutely no freedom over your character or the environment. Far Cry 6, for instance, is not really an RPG. Some examples that are close to that "freedom" would be the Elder Scrolls series and Fallout. The game has received some RPG elements now through updates, but its still not there. Lack of the above is what forced the Cyberpunk 2077 devs to remove the "RPG" tag from their game a few days before release. When people talk about "RPGs" they mean a game where you can role-play freely, interact with the environment, actions have consequences/karma/faction rep, relationships with NPCs, customize freely yourself/the world, loot everything, become anything you want, etc etc. Every game can be called an RPG since you are Role-playing as something. And I guess technically they're not wrong since you play a role. It seems basically every game where you play as a character, custom or not, is an "RPG" these days. Gameplay-wise you just won't be able to roleplay like that.

Let's just hope that this is not the case with Hogwarts, though I highly doubt it.ĮDIT: Of course, you can be anything you want in your head while playing. Lately every open-world action adventure game is baptized as an "RPG," only to release and people realize that this is not really an RPG.
